"Hiwwel" tours

When people in Rheinhessen talk about "Hiwwels", they mean hills, which are obviously an important feature in the "Land of 1000 Hills" as this landscape is also known as. In the hills of Germany's largest wine-producing region there are many cultural, historical and ecological gems to explore – not to speak of the excellent wine. Sign-posted hiking trails bring you through a fascinating landscape dominated by vineyards and traditional villages with magnificent views over valleys and hills. There are four "Hiwwel" tours to choose from: Bismarckturm, Eichelberg, Heideblick and Tiefenthaler Höhe.
